Questions

What members actually ask.

Why charge at all if the library is free?

Because the alternatives are worse. Advertising would put vendors in the room, affiliate links would put a margin on every recommendation, and grants would put a funder's preferences on the roadmap. Membership fees are the least corrupting option we could find.

Will any part of the library ever go behind a paywall?

No. Profiles, tiers, citations, and revision history stay open. Membership pays for tools that are about you, not about the literature.

Do you sell or share member data?

No. Logs are private, are not used to train anything, and are not shared with third parties. Export or delete everything at any time, without asking us.

Do you accept money from manufacturers or suppliers?

No not for placement, not for review, not for advertising, and not for a link. There is no mechanism by which a supplier can influence a grade.
